To create a more diverse and inclusive live events industry through community engagement, training, mentorship, networking, and paid apprenticeship placement.
Why?
As backstage professionals, our job is to fade into the background so that others may shine brightly. Naturally, this low profile makes it difficult for individuals without resources or connections to find their way into our fold. As a result, the backstage industry has a diversity problem. EVEN was created to address this problem by building an end-to-end pipeline from first awareness to first gig and beyond. We want to reflect on who the people within our industry are - what do our technical crews look like today and what should our crews look like in the future?
Our Vision
Is to establish the live events industry as a viable, respected career choice that values diversity, promotes inclusion, and provides professional pathways outside the traditional college route.
